Paranaque National Highschool Baclaran kick-started its 100% face-to-face classes by conducting the National School Opening Day Program last Aug. 22, 2022, at 9:00 am, at the School Gymnasium and via Facebook Livestream.
After 2 years of distance learning and studying in isolation from the cause of the COVID-19 pandemic, from those very same trials and hardships, the program was celebrated with a joyful and festive outlook like a festival to bring good vibes and to encourage everyone to a brighter and more progressive school year 2022-2023.
To held witness to the event were PNHS-Baclaran Faculty, School Administration, Non-Teaching Personnel, SDO-Paranaque DepEd Officials, Barangay Baclaran Captain Jun Zaide and students from the STE program.
“After 2 condemning years, tayo ay magbabalik for the first time for a full face-to-face modality. Paranaque National Highschool Baclaran is the only public secondary school in SDO Paranaque that will be offering this kind of modality that is full face-to-face classes” said Dr. Gerry Catchillar, Principal IV, during his Welcome Remarks. He acknowledged how our school is the most well-equipped and prepared school in all of Paranaque for public secondary education and is approved by the SDO of Paranaque for clearance of a full 100% Face to Face class. He thanked all the teachers and non-teaching personnel that had committed and helped in the process of this amazing feat for the school.
To also give her inspirational message, Dr. Reena Orquina, Public Schools District Supervisor of District VII expressed how she felt the excitement of the school re-opening for this school year. She congratulated the great feat that the school had received and also reminds everyone to keep following the minimum health guidelines of the school to protect everyone as she claimed, “Hindi pa tayo tapos.” She said that everyone should be mindful of the upcoming DepEd announcements and how the students will do their best in their classes and to take to heart the advice and learnings of the teachers to create good and law-abiding students.
Barangay Baclaran Captain Julius Anthony “Jun” Zaide gave his inspiring words to the students. He shared his journey on being a student and how he struggled with the challenges that came his way but despite his hardships, he managed to take what he learned to help improve his life and to give back to the community. “Wag kayo sumuko.” was his prominent message to the students. He claims that if students don’t give up on their dreams and take their education seriously they too can achieve their dreams. To add to his message, he would continue to serve and protect Barangay Baclaran and help support the school’s progress.
Showcasing their skills and talents, selected SHS students presented a dance number in a festive-like. It was followed by the introduction of teachers by the department. To soften the mood, Mrs. Marjorie Domingo gave the audience a surprise singing performance.
The school also presented a school vlog from the Brigada Eskwela Drive presenting the people who helped make the school a better place and the readiness of the school for the opening of classes. It was followed by the turn-over ceremony of Brgy Capt. Zaide’s donations such as sound system and 2 foldable bicycles to the school.
Mr. Gliender V. Ronoco gave his well wishes and thanks to the people behind the success of the full face-to-face class modality and said he admired and respected everyone’s dedication to their oath to nurture students.
